Sonic Heroes Rumored to Get Unreal Engine 5 Remake, According to New Report

Heroic Leaks

Sonic Heroes Could See A Remake In The Future

The blue blur has been on a successful run recently, and since the success of Sonic Plus, a new report has surfaced that claims Sonic Heroes could be the next game to get remade in Unreal Engine 5.

Sonic the Hedgehog has seen a huge uptick in remakes in the last few years. Big releases like Sonic Mania and Sonic Plus have had success, and Sonic x Shadow: Generations received an official announcement at the Sony State of Play back in January. SEGA shows no signs of stopping with the Sonic remakes, so a report released today from the Portuguese publication UniversoNintendo suggests Sonic Heroes could be the next Hedghog-laden game to get the treatment.

Sonic Heroes Could See A Remake In The Future

The report comes from a publication made by Zippo, that up-front confirms the remake of Sonic Heroes. Zippo states, “Secret is out. 2003’s seminal Sonic Heroes is being remade for current generation consoles, in Unreal Engine 5.” This leak has been corroborated by another known leaker, Midori, in an X (formerly Twitter) thread that can be seen below. Midori says, “This is correct information. But there is not Sonic Adventure remakes right now.”

It’s worth mentioning another leak happened regarding a potential mobile game featuring the blue blur called Sonic Toy Party, reported by NintendoLife. While there is a trailer involved, the title appears to be a crossover between Fall Guys and Sonic characters (not unlike the previously released Fall Guys Sonic outfits).

Fans should heed all of the leaks above (no matter how real they appear) with a grain of salt. Everything mentioned above, including the Sonic Heroes leak, shouldn’t be taken as fact until SEGA themselves announce anything as they did at the Sony State of Play with Sonic x Shadow: Generations. While this appears to be the end of the Sonic the Hedgehog leaks for now, fans can take a look at the leaked Sonic Toy Party trailer here until another leak springs.
