TCL Unveils 2020 5 and 6-Series TV Lineup, Featuring QLED Canada Debut

Today, TCL releases details on its new 2020 5-Series and 6-Series range of TVs featuring QLED technology, delivering superior value and performance compared to the previous year’s offerings.

For the first time in Canada, TCL is bringing its QLED technology to the 5-Series and 6-Series ranges to deliver better performance for all media consumption. From gaming to watching the latest movies at home, the new display technology will ensure all 4K content looks sharp, clear and vivid. QLED colour technology has the potential to deliver deeply saturated reds, stunning greens and spectacular blues without found in alternative display technology.

The new 2020 6 & 5-Series also boast superior 4K Ultra HD picture clarity combined with the contrast, colour, and detail of Dolby Vision HDR to deliver a more lifelike picture that ensures movies, games and TV shows look like the creators intended. Additionally, the ranges will also feature TCL’s AiPQ Engine, which uses machine learning to optimize colour, contrast and clarity for an improved 4K HDR experience.

As with past years, the TCL 6 & 5-Series TVs will be powered by the Roku OS to ensure you can tap into a world of entertainment without any additional dongles or devices. With access to over 150,000+ different movies and shows, Roku is the portal to countless hours of entertainment. With the Roku remote, and the Roku App, available on Android and iOS, the TCL 6 & 5-Series TVs are ready for the world of 4K entertainment as soon as they are plugged in and set up with your account. 

Looking at the TCL 6-Series, this year’s offering is set to deliver a superior viewing experience by offering micro-meter class mini-LED backlights for uncompromised contrast and brilliantly smooth illumination. With 240 Contrast Control Zones for vibrant bright and deeply dark areas of the image, the TCL mini-LED technology delivers depth and clarity to all games, movies and tv series.

If that were not enough, for any uncompromising gamers that demand only the best from their displays, TCL will be the first large display to offer THX Certified Game Mode. Building on decades of experience, this new mode looks to bring the best performance and clarity all with an ultra-low latency large-format gaming experience. Combined with Variable Refresh Rate and Auto Game Mode, the TCL 6-Series brings a new level of performance and existent to the large format gaming experience.

The TCL 6-Series will be available later this month in a 55” model (55R635) starting at $899, up to a 75” model (75R635) for $1999, with preorders beginning today.

The TCL 5-Series for the first time in Canada will feature QLED colour and TCL’s Contrast Control Zone technology to marry premium picture and clarity to make the home theatre experience better and more exciting than ever. With a cinema-like viewing experience and elegant “FullView” bezel-less design combine with technologies like Quantum Dot, Dolby Vision, HDR Pro Pack, Auto Game Mode and And with 80 contrast zones, the TCL 5-Series brings tremendous value and performance to the Canadian TV market. 

The TCL 5-Series will be available later this month in sizes ranging from 50” up to 75” models starting at under $549 from your favourite retailer.
