Everyone’s favourite personality is returning to the pitch sidelines in August, Ted Lasso is back in season four, and Apple TV has teased it’s right around the corner.
It has been three months since Apple TV announced that Ted Lasso would be brought back for a Season Four, giving the titular hero a new obstacle to tackle. This season, Ted Lasso will be returning to southwest London with a new challenge: coaching a second division women’s football team. Ted and the team will “learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.” The announcement also revealed the series has recast Ted’s son, Henry, and now Grant Feely will take on the role of the younger Lasso.
The new teaser has shed some light on the show’s hopeful atmosphere (while also tearing it down a hilarious peg), and it can be seen below courtesy of Apple TV.
As the trailer reveals, Ted Lasso is all smiles once again, and even when called a “Wanker” for coaching girls, he can’t help but nod in almost agreement, as the character does. The trailer shows that although the coach’s return is embraced by his fans, their backwards-leaning views might not exactly co-mingle with what Ted himself thinks.
Season four stars include Jason Sudeikis (who also executive produces) alongside Brendan Hunt, Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Emmy winner Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift. Newcomers to the series include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.

Ted will have his work cut out for him when he returns to the pitch for AFC Richmond and the new mystery women’s football team he will lead. Plot details, such as where the team is from and their significance to Lasso, are still under wraps (possibly until the season begins). Season four of Ted Lasso is set to kick things off on August 5th.
