Tubi just released its upcoming lineup of films and originals coming to the free ad-supported streaming service for December 2024.
Many consumers have subscriptions to popular streaming sites like Netflix, Prime Video, Paramount+, AppleTV+ and so on. But all of those are paid. Tubi has been on the rise, making it the biggest free streaming site in Canada, offering many free Hollywood titles. Their Tubi Originals are rapidly gaining immense popularity as well. Here is a look at some of the films/series coming to Tubi in December 2024.
This month, two Tubi Originals were highlighted, both filmed in Canada. Making its North American premiere on November 29th, Sidelined: The QB and Me was filmed in Victoria, BC, directed by Canada’s Justin Wu, and stars Canadian actors Deborah Cox and Drew Ray Tanner. The synopsis reads, “A headstrong dancer and a cocky quarterback fight against their feelings for each other as their post-grad future threatens to keep them apart.” If you are in the mood for a good romance story, this could be a good watch.
Making its Canadian premiere on December 1st, The Threat Next Door was filmed in Hamilton, ON, directed by Canada’s Pasha Patriki and stars Canadian actors Shiva Negar (American Assassin) and Kimberly-Sue Murray (Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy). The synopsis reads, “When an overworked single mother hires a friendly neighbour to babysit her daughter, she begins to face increasingly strange and threatening situations.” For those who love a good nail-biting thriller flick, this might be up your alley.
