On the heels of the massive Xiaomi 12 original three phone lineup released back in March, Xiaomi may have another trick up its sleeve with a Xiaomi 12 Lite addition.
The flagship Xiaomi 12 smartphone series that saw its release worldwide back in March, may see a new family member introduced in the form of a ‘Lite’ model, like the Xiaomi 11 lineup that preceded it. Very much like last year’s reveal of the Xiaomi 11 Lite, the Xiaomi 12 seems to be following the same release pattern.
If the latest FCC post is of any indication, the 12 Lite will not only feature what made the previous Lite model desirable—a more lightweight and versatile design—but it will also feature the power that the smartphone brand is known for with a Snapdragon 778G chip processor, although it is an inferior choice when compared to the other phones in the lineup that feature the Snapdragon 870. The information shown by the Geekbench test includes the possibility of three different options for consumers, a choice of 6/8 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB storage
The Geekbench test also provided that the 12 Lite will likely only feature a 5G model (unlike the Xiaomi 11 Lite which received a 4G model as well) and will run the Android 12 OS straight out of the box, which keeps it in line with the other phones in the lineup.
Another note consumers should make when considering the impending arrival of the Xiaomi 12 Lite, is how it fares in the price range. When checking how the previous flagship generations squared up against one another, the Xiaomi 11 Lite was priced at a heavily reduced rate when compared to the Xiaomi 11. The new Lineup already has the economy model with the Xiaomi 12X, so it remains undetermined whether this model will be even more affordable.
The new lifestyle-centered Xiaomi 12 Lite has yet to be formally announced, but with the FCC listing, it is all but certain. Potential consumers can check out the official Xiaomi Twitter account for important updates regarding the next entry in their flagship smartphone series.
