XSET has announced their latest venture into esports this week, as they announce a new venture into CS: Go with plans to assemble an all-female squad and they are signing Fortnite players.
XSET is a lifestyle brand seeking to break barriers in the gaming sphere, and while they continue to make gaming a space for everyone. This week, they’ve announced a brand new venture into CS: Go esports, they are recruiting an all-female CS: Go team by way of tryouts over a one-month period. The period will give aspiring CS: Go players the chance to show their skills and teamwork to ultimately obtain a spot on the new U.S. prestigious all-female esports team’s roster.
Head of Esports at XSET, Jacob Arce said “As we set our sights on entering the CS: Go scene, we aim to bring a fresh approach by involving, supporting, and empowering existing and emerging talented female content creators” regarding the move to jump into CS: Go, while at the same time calling the long-standing king of FPS titles, “a game that has demonstrated unwavering popularity over the past decade.”
In this new novel way of recruiting an esports team, XSET aims to bring the involvement and support of their female content creators such as content creator Avori Strib. XSET promises the tryout period will “be an engaging and inclusive process, incorporating fan participation and a series of elimination rounds.”
XSET CEO Greg Selkoe says “With innovative strategies and unwavering determination, we’re prepared to make a substantial impact in the esports scene and beyond by continuing to define ‘gaming lifestyle’” on the inclusivity of the open tryouts, and how XSET is aiming to make a huge jump toward nurturing female talent for their brand.
Also, while brief, XSET’s Jacon Arce (who also plays Fortnite) also mentioned the company’s jump into Fortnite with a small teaser “Fortnite holds a special place in my heart; it epitomizes the creativity that sets XSET apart. The game and its creators are incredibly versatile, offering numerous opportunities to infuse creativity into both gameplay and content creation,” with “Without revealing too much–get ready for some major announcements” regarding their upcoming plans with Fortnite.
It’s important to note, that dates for the tryouts and Fortnite involvement have not been announced just yet. So fans interested should check back on the XSET website periodically for when the tryouts for CS: Go will commence.
