Rings of Power

Pixels & Ink Podcast: Episode 384

On [last] week’s Pixels & Ink Podcast: Brendan, Chris, Jordan and Khari sit down to talk about the Elden Ring launch—Brendan had been playing it and shared his thoughts about it.

They also talked about the reveal of the PSVR2 and as usual, Jordan was not super impressed with the notion of VR. They also talked about some of the reveals from Capcom, specifically Street Fighter 6, and the Capcom Fighting Collection.

In Nintendo news, the gang talked a bit about the rumour of a new potential mainline Fire Emblem game coming sometime next year, as well as Nintendo’s acquisition of SRD. They finished off the news by talking about Bioware saying Dragon Age 4 was “about halfway through development.”

In reviews: Brendan talked about Martha is Dead, Chris talked about the Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster, and Khari talked about CrossfireX.

About the Castors:

  • Brendan Frye: Editor-in-Chief of CGMagazine, Brendan is as snarky as he is seasoned in the gaming industry. With over a decade working as a journalist and EIC, he has covered festivals and conferences, interviewed the industry’s biggest names, and is always excited to see how the medium changes with new technology and fresh voices. Find him on Twitter at @bfrye26
  • Chris De Hoog: A writer and podcaster from Ontario, Chris discovered roleplaying games with Final Fantasy on the NES and has been overthinking them ever since. When he’s not obsessing over Star Wars, you can find him steaming at twitch.tv/guildtwotaps
  • Dayna Eileen: A long-time serial gamer, mom of two, aunt to many; she absolutely loves introducing the people she knows to her love for games and nerd culture. You can find her on Instagram and Twitter and Instagram as @thedaynaeileen
  • Jordan Biordi: Writer, Editor, and part-time Ninja; when he’s not busy combating the forces of evil, he’s writing articles and making videos on the hilariously mediocre Youtube channel: Ninja-Jordan Reviews.
  • Khari Taylor: With gaming roots that pre-date the Nintendo Game & Watch, Khari remains a young soul in an industry where he’s often the oldest in the room. Japan his second home, he makes the pilgrimage to gaming’s mecca, Akihabara, whenever possible.
