This girl finally got her hands on the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro earbuds! Having gotten hold of the non-pro Buds4 variety early this year at Galaxy Unpacked, I was happy with the earbuds, but I really felt they were missing some important features—like eartips. This greatly impacted how I felt about the overall experience. I am happy to report that the Buds4 Pro have absolutely solved the issues I had, but that does come at a pro-level price.
A lot of what I am going to say about the style and features of the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro can be found in my Buds4 review already. For instance, the Buds4 Pro come in the same colour variants: Black, White and “Pink” Gold, which I still debate. I absolutely adore the style, and got the white variant this time around, which looks timeless and classic. I love the flat, squared design this year.

The app also works largely the same with non-Samsung devices, with features baked into the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and other, newer, Samsung devices thanks to One UI 8.5 Integration. Here you can control the equalizer, changing to preset options like bass-boost, balanced and more, or create a custom profile, plus update the earbuds or control the ANC. Something I did notice that bothered me was needing two-factor authentication to pair the buds to the app, which I wasn’t able to do on a flight to LA because it required my phone number. Earbuds aren’t that deep, my friend.
“With Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0, the Buds4 Pro are able to adapt to the noise around you and adjust accordingly.”
Active Noise Cancellation is much better on the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro than the Buds4, and that is largely thanks to the inclusion of rubber eartips, which create a great seal. The poor ANC was my biggest complaint with the Buds4, especially being almost $ 180 USD. With Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0, the Buds4 Pro are able to adapt to the noise around you and adjust accordingly. It doesn’t hurt that they were far more comfortable thanks to the eartips as well.
Though I am pleased that the ANC works on these earbuds, it still isn’t as good as some other earbuds I have tested. I still use the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 as earbuds and the Edifier WH950MB headphones. For two devices that are nearly two years old, I have yet to find earbuds that compete. That being said, the ANC does block out a lot of noise— the humming of an airplane or a loud crowd—but a crying baby, for instance, is still very clear. Low tones are blocked well, but highs get through.

The sound on the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro is excellent all around. My music taste really runs the gamut of tones, and I am happy to report that the Buds4 Pro met every challenge. They are fitted with a 2-Way speaker system with a wider woofer and dedicated tweeter, and if you have a Galaxy-compatible device, you can experience Ultra High Quality Audio, as the buds support 24‑bit / 96 kHz via Samsung Seamless Codec (SSC).
An adaptive 9-band equalizer offers automatic tuning based on how you wear the buds or your ear shape. These are features that audiophiles might notice, but regular folk like me might not take notice of. Samsung has also sprung for a 6-mic system, so calls are super clear when using the Buds4 Pro.
There are several features that dedicated Galaxy ecosystem users can benefit from, such as UHQ above, 360 Audio, hands-free assistants like Bixby or Google Assistant, and Samsung Find My and Galaxy AI Interpreter. These interpreter features are neat, but still have a long way to go before they are really useful. You can also swap seamlessly between your Galaxy devices, which is always great.
“Battery life on the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro was pretty impressive, offering a competitive edge.”
A neat inclusion was head-gesture controls, meaning you can nod to answer or shake your head to decline calls. This works in practice, but you do have to be pretty dramatic with your movements and look a bit crazy. Onboard controls were a breeze and simple to use, making use of single, double, triple, pinch and hold and swipe controls. My only complaint, which I had with the Buds4 as well, is that the area to pinch is a bit close to the ear, requiring some maneuvering sometimes, especially with nails.

Battery life on the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro was pretty impressive, offering a competitive edge. On a six-hour flight from Toronto to Reykjavik, I ended the trip at 19% battery life, and I always have ANC on max, especially on an overnight flight. Charging was equally impressive. In just 10 minutes, I was able to bring them up another 20%, which would last at least another two hours. I spent five days in Iceland, and the case was finally dead upon returning home, and I used those buds a lot.
I was satisfied with the Buds4 when I reviewed them a few months ago, but had quite a few feelings about their comfort, battery life and ANC. It turns out I just needed the Pro variant. The Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro solved every issue I had with the Buds4, and I have been very happy with their performance overall. With great sound, competitive battery life, all-day comfort and sufficient ANC, there isn’t much more I can ask for.
If you’re a Galaxy ecosystem user, the benefits of the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro are the cherry on top, but if you aren’t, these are still a damn good pair of earbuds, if you can stomach the $249.99 USD price.
