It’s robots and explosions galore in the latest trailer.
There’s a new trailer (embedded below) for Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and it’s a bit of a good news/bad news situation. The good news is that if you liked the last two Transformers movies, then you’ll probably like this one, since it’s basically more of the same. The bad news, of course, is that if you disliked the last two Transformers movies, the new one is still more of the same. The Michael Bay film stars a returning Shia LeBeouf as Sam Witwicky and introduces Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as new gal pal Carly.
In Dark of the Moon, the Decepticons have started an invasion of Earth after a beam of light awakens an army that had been deactivated on the Moon, and if the trailer is any indication, the action and destruction is now taking place on a much larger scale. The only returning robots in the trailer are Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, although we get to see a few new faces like the Decepticon Shockwave and a bird transformer who I’m guessing is Laserbeak.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is set for a July 1 release and it will be interesting to see how well it fares given the critical negativity that was directed at Revenge of the Fallen.
