Rockstar Reveals New Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer

Rockstar has officially given fans a second look at the upcoming Red Dead Redemption sequel.

A new trailer was released today for Rockstar’s open world western, Red Dead Redemption 2. The new trailer gives more details about the game’s plot along with showcasing a few different locales that players will get to visit.

“The story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight, and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive,” Rockstar said when describing the game’s narrative.

Like its predecessor, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open world adventure game set in the Old West. Rockstar originally announced the game back in 2016, releasing a trailer shortly afterwards. Although Red Dead Redemption 2 was initially planned to release this fall, Rockstar announced earlier this year that the company delayed the game to spring 2018..

The original Red Dead Redemption released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Developed as a sequel to 2004’s Red Dead Revolver, the game follows John Marston, a former outlaw whose wife and son are taken hostage by the government in the year 1911. Red Dead Redemption plays similarly to Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series, allowing players to freely roam a large open world and take on missions with setup scenarios and objectives. Red Dead Redemption also featured a modified version of the Grand Theft Auto wanted system along with a morality system defined by the player’s own actions. Since its release, Red Dead Redemption has received a great amount of praise from both fans and critics, praising its powerful story and open gameplay.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
