For those interested in the world of game sale numbers (at least in Japan), the latest Media Create Sales have just come out for October, specifically October 23 to October 29, 2017.

Unsurprisingly, the just-released Super Mario Odyssey title for the Nintendo Switch has taken the number one spot, selling an impressive 462,038 units during its first week of release in Japan. A flagship Mario title usually also spells a boost in hardware sales, and the Switch is no exception, with units soaring to 126,701 sold, up a staggering 95,509 units from last week’s 31,092 systems sold.

A bit more unexpected, the sales figures for Atlus’s remastered 3DS port of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, aptly titled the Redux Edition, which ended up selling a solid 60,848 units in its first week according to the media create sales.

Other notable sales include ARK: Survival Evolved for PlayStation 4 which sold 70,177 units, and Ubisoft’s latest entry into the long-running Assassin’s Creed series with Assassin’s Creed Origins, which sold just shy of 50,000 units at 49,419 units sold.

In terms of older hardware, the PlayStation 4 sold a total of 24,653 units where Nintendo’s 3DS handheld sold an admirable 17,283 units. The full list and breakdown of the Media Create Sales for October are available below:
