Sharpen your fangs and get ready to prowl the dark streets of London, because Vampyr has been given a release date.

DONTNOD Entertainment, the developers of Vampyr have set the game for release in the summer of this year. DONTNOD also developed Life is Strange, Life is Strange 2 and Remember Me. Vampyr is the newest action RPG to join DONTNOD’s growing library.

In Vampyr, players take control of a vampire in 20th century Britain during the scourge of the Spanish flu. Players will be making use of versatile RPG style skill trees to harness their powers and change how they want to play the game. As a doctor recently turned vampire, the player will try to come to grip with their new affliction while trying to cling to the last piece of humanity they have as they slaughter their way through Britain. Players will also have to make choices that will ultimately impact their surroundings and how citizens interact with the player.

DONTNOD also completed their short web series about the making of Vampyr. The webseries consist of four episodes and each one focuses on a specific part of the design choices. The most recent episode focuses on why videogames are unique compared to other storytelling mediums and how this impacted their approach to crafting a gripping narrative. Each episode can be viewed here.

The game will be available on June 5, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
