As the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, Amazon and Fuse Games surprisingly announced that the latest Star Wars title will also launch on Amazon Luna. Expanding the cloud-gaming service library, Star Wars: Galactic Racer features various repulsorcraft classes, multiple game modes, familiar and new environments to race across, and more.

For those not familiar, Amazon Luna is a cloud-gaming service launched in 2020, boasting a wide library of games for Prime members to play on their Amazon Fire TV, select Samsung and LG smart TVs, Android, iOS, PC, Mac, and Chromebook. With Star Wars: Galactic Racer joining the lineup, Amazon Luna features many more popular Star Wars titles, including Star Wars Outlaws, Star Wars JEDI: Fallen Order and Survivor, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Edition, and more.

Stepping into Star Wars: Galactic Racer, players take on the role of a lone racer named Shade, who strives for glory. Set in the early days of the New Republic, players are invited to the Galactic League, a high-stakes, unsanctioned racing circuit filled with foes and powerful organisations. As they participate in the league, players can partake in many events and upgrade their vehicles to their liking. However, to bring the golden age of racing to more people across the galaxy, a lifelong fan named Darius Pax formed an underground racing league.

As players participate in the Galactic League, they will have access to a wide variety of upgradable repulsorcraft. The repulsorcraft included in Star Wars: Galactic Racer are:

  • Landspeeders – Built for takedowns and smooth turns.
  • Speeder Bikes – Built to prioritize speed with fast acceleration and hard braking.
  • Skim Speeder – A new repulsocraft class introduced in the latest title, designed for momentum and to perform sharp turns.
  • Podracers – Designed for players to show off their piloting skills in the iconic repulsocraft. However, Podracers can only be used against each other due to their ultra-high-speed calibre.

Alongside the repulsocraft classes, Star Wars: Galactic Racer features many new racetracks, including the Graveyard of Giants in Jakku, the frozen landscape of Ando Prime, toxic terrain in Sentinel I, and more. In addition to the new racetracks, players can race against familiar racers, including the male Dug, Sebulba, from Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

With many repulsocraft and racetracks available, players can partake in various modes as they race across the galaxy. The modes that will be available are:

  • Solo Campaign – Follow Shade’s journey to become the Galactic League champion. During the journey, players can utilize and upgrade many vehicles.
  • Arcade mode – Short missions for players to race against the clock and complete objectives in mandatory vehicles on specific racetracks.
  • Scenarios mode – Longer missions for players to complete challenges with different rule sets and characters.

As Star Wars: Galactic Racer joins Amazon Luna, the Head of Gaming at Amazon, Jeff Gattis, shared: “We’ve always believed Luna players deserve to be in the action from day one, and Star Wars: Galactic Racer makes that a reality for the first time. Luna players can jump into the single-player campaign today without needing to own a console or wait for a lengthy download. And the best part: if they’re a Prime member, they already have it at no additional cost. It’s exactly the kind of experience we want to deliver on Luna, and we think players are going to love it.”

Starting today, Amazon Prime members can play Star Wars: Galactic Racer on the Amazon Luna website and app, available in the U.S., UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Following the launch of Luna integration into the Prime Video app, Fire TV users in the U.S. and UK can play the latest Star Wars title through Prime Video in a dedicated Luna tab.
