Someone familiar with the game has revealed pretty much everything you’d want to know about the upcoming sequel.

Citing multiple unnamed sources, Kotaku has leaked a whole slew of information for Modern Warfare 3, including the game’s release date, full plot spoilers, and multiplayer details. The game has not yet been announced, but is apparently in development at Infinity Ward with help from Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software.

MW3 is set for a November 8, 2011 release and will pick up right where Modern Warfare 2 left off. The U.S. is still trying to fend off a surprise Russian attack and the single player will have about 15 missions, starting in Manhattan and ending in Dubai. Other locations include Paris, London, Berlin, and Mogadishu, and players will take control of a Russian Federal Protective Services agent, an SAS Operative, a tank gunner, an AC-130 gunner, and other returning characters at various points during the campaign. If you want to have the whole thing ruined, you can check out Kotaku’s spoiler-heavy rundown of the plot.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Call of Duty game without multiplayer, and MW3 seems to have everything you’d expect. The game will reportedly have up to 20 different maps at launch and will introduce two new Spec Ops modes titled “Survival” and “Mission.”

None of the information has been confirmed – and you have to wonder about the integrity of the sources –  although Robert Bowling, the creative strategist at Infinity Ward tweeted to say, “A lot of hype & a lot of leaked info on #MW3, some still accurate, some not. To avoid spoiling the experience, I’d wait for the real reveal.” If some of the news is accurate, then MW3 almost certainly exists (not that that’s a surprise), but the full details will probably have to wait until the expected announcement at E3. In the meantime, you’ll want to be wary while sifting through the information.
