007 First Light has uncorked details of its upcoming free DLC, Extended Operations, along with a trailer, and it’s free of charge.
The DLC is free, and it launches today. IO Interactive may be one of the best developers in the business when it comes to supporting a game well after launch, and it appears to be doing exactly as promised with 007 First Light‘s new DLC, Extended Operations. IO Interactive proved it can support a title with updates —considering the modern Hitman games and their lengthy roadmaps continue to be fulfilled— and Extended Operations is just an extension of that business, bringing more content to First Light and giving fans an excuse to get back behind the wheel of James Bond.
At first, players had been informed that a free DLC for 007 First Light was on its way, but at the time, no details were revealed. Fans then took to forums like Reddit and pondered whether Extended Operations would include new content or be limited to cosmetics. However, now IO Interactive has torn off the band-aid and unleashed the new DLC today, and it lets players get behind the wheel of the Aston Martin Valhalla, a photo mode, new game+, and more content. The release announcement for the DLC can be seen below, as posted on social media. 007 First Light Extended Operations asks players to “Earn The Number.”
One of the additions for the 007 First Light Extended Operations DLC is Valhalla Protocol, which puts players back behind the wheel of Bond’s iconic Aston Martin variant. Valhalla Protocol is an activity where players take on challengers on the roads of Slovakia, using mounted missiles and turrets to take down other vehicles and obstacles, like a version of secret agent Twisted Metal. Players will be put in competition against each other and will compete globally across four different versions of the track for bragging rights. On top of that, a new photo mode has been added, letting fans take serious action shots of what’s happening on screen.

That’s not all. Two new weapons will also be added with 007 First Light Extended Operations, bringing the Squire Marksman Rifle and the Storm 12 Gauge Shotgun to Bond’s arsenal. Players will also get two new outfits for Bond; a New Game+ mode will be added, and in that new playthrough, IO Interactive will let players wear the new outfits from the start. It also adds the new ’00’ difficulty from the get go, which is considered the hardest difficulty in the game currently.
Fans can jump right into 007 First Light Extended Operations, as the new DLC is free and available now.
