Anime Expo 2018 just wrapped up over the weekend, and it brought us an exciting update on NieR: Automata: Short Story Long.
Viz Media announced it will be translating the short story collection into English, so fans can enjoy the characters both in book and video game form.
NieR: Automata: Short Story Long will be coming out in English in 2019, and it will include the classic The Flame of Prometheus along with A Much Too Silent Sea, original tales of Automata II, and more. This collection will be written by Jun Eishima and Yoko Taro.
Alongside this update, Viz Media also announced a Junji Ito story collection. Fans of Ito’s work in the horror genre of manga would get 13 tales in the new hardcover collection, which is schedules for publication next year.
With Banana Fish now an anime, Viz Media decided to reprint the entire manga series. Banana Fish by Akimi Yoshida consists of 19 volumes, and it’s about a New York teenage gang leader.
Viz Media ended its series of Anime Expo 2018 announcements with news of acquiring Megalobox. It’s an anime series about boxing that commemorates the 50th anniversary of Ashita no Joe’s manga. On Twitter, Viz Media showed off the official English trailer for the series.
