Bandai Namco Supposedly Developing NX Games

Bandai Namco is apparently developing several games for Nintendo’s newest console, including a Smash Bros for launch.

This information comes from CEO of Tokyo-based game industry consultancy Kantan Games, Dr. Serkan Toto tweeted “Bandai Namco is currently developing several NX titles. Smash Bros is planned to be a launch title. I am not sure about the date – yet ;).”

In response, M.H. Williams tweeted “Your source, dear Toto?” To which Toto responded “Can’t say (sorry) but the source situation is very solid. Otherwise I wouldn’t have tweeted.” Toto followed this up by tweeting, “To follow up on my last tweet: I haven’t heard if it’s a completely new (numbered) Smash Bros or not. Otherwise, source situation is solid.”

These rumours might suggest a strong lineup of games for the NX at launch, including several JRPGs (heck we could even see Dark Souls on Nintendo). Although, if Nintendo is planning to either re-launch Smash Bros on the NX it could suggest the NX’s release date being much closer than one thinks. Only time will tell.
