Batman: Arkham Trilogy for Nintendo Switch Punched By Delay

The Dark Knight Waits Till December

While 2023 has been a great year for gaming as a whole, stiff delays in the development department have become common and Batman: Arkham Trilogy for Nintendo Switch is the latest victim.

Batman: Arkham Asylum released way back in 2009, and since then only Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition has seen a launch for a Nintendo platform and that was for the Nintendo Wii U back in 2012. After 10 years of no Batman on Nintendo (aside from the Injustice series), June’s Nintendo Direct gave fans of the Caped Crusader a reason to be excited. Batman: Arkham Trilogy is coming to the Nintendo Switch, but today, there has been a bump in the road, as the three titles have been delayed according to the official Batman Arkham X account (formerly Twitter). The tweet can be seen below.

The developers write “More time is needed to bring players the best possible experience on Nintendo Switch,” while listing the new release date for Batman: Arkham Trilogy as December 1. While delays are usually met with a majority of backlash from fans, this time around fans are divided on the delay with some applauding the decision due to the torrent of October releases, others applauding the delay for the title for the devs to get it right, and of course, the fans who are notably angry for the delay and the lack of a Batman: Arkham Origins inclusion.

User Jonatha83622215 writes “Good. October is packed as is. Now add Origins” in a straight-to-the-point comment that echoes the feelings of many other posters. Another common theme fans are curious about, is how Batman: Arkham Knight will run on Switch after the abysmal reception the Mortal Kombat 1 port faced.

It’s worth mentioning Nintendo Switch titles have been on the receiving end of delays in 2023, with Hogwarts Legacy still delayed until November after its original launch for Xbox Series S/X and PS5 in February. The Front Mission 2: Remake has also been delayed from June until October 13 on the Nintendo Switch console as part of a delay-riddled 2023.

Batman: Arkham Trilogy will now launch on the Nintendo Switch on December 1, 2023.
