Four years ago, BEACN made waves with their first line of products, and bringing them all together was the BEACN App, arguably the best app solution for fine-tuning your audio for the best audience experience. With the announcement of the latest version, BEACN App Version 1.4, they’ve gone even further, improving your listening experience and making the whole process easier, more intuitive, and frankly, educational.
BEACN App Version 1.4 provides a brand new experience for you as a listener of content with binaural customization. The app will give you a hearing test to build a personal profile (still customizable after the fact) and allow you to create different EQ profiles for each ear. The company’s visual guides show you where typical sounds are based on the profile you choose. “Games” can pinpoint where footsteps appear, “music” can help you find where the vocals and instruments appear, and “media” flags a few examples of low, mid and high frequencies.

Live profiles have been added to Version 1.4 of the BEACN App, taking away those times when you make changes and then accidentally close the app before saving. Now, changes will be updated in real time, with an added feature that lets you take snapshots so you can revert the settings to that recent snapshot if needed.
A new “Main Out” fader on the mixer allows you to control personal and audio mixes from your BEACN Mix Create. Additional mixer features on BEACN App 1.4 include the addition of two new VOD tracks, allowing you to create separate mix outputs for different scenarios. Channels can now be renamed to your specifications, and it will reflect both on the mixer and BEACN Mix Create, for even better source recognition.

The user experience as a whole is getting a boost in BEACN App Version 1.4. The mic EQ has more visual guides based on the type of voice you have, be it deep, high-pitched, or somewhere in between; they’ve improved their metering with a more responsive, full-stereo metering with better visual feedback for more true-to-live audio.
BEACN App Version 1.4 will begin an open beta release this summer, giving users access to all of these new features. The update promises to deliver an overall improved experience that should allow you to set up your audio faster and more accurately than ever before.
