Most known for his iconic role as family man Danny Tanner in the ABC series Full House, Bob Saget was found dead at the Ritz Carlton Hotel earlier today, January 9, 2022.
The news of the late actor came after he performed a huge stand-up comedy set last night where he stated he was happy to be performing in front of live audiences again via Twitter.
The report came in from the Orange County Sheriffs Office, which pronounced the actor deceased when the officers arrived on the scene. Drugs and foul play have been ruled out, but an official cause of death has yet to be released.
Saget had recently kicked off a stand-up comedy tour back in December, where the tour dates and schedule had been announced. Besides the iconic role on Full House, Saget had large notable appearances in many forms of media, including Entourage, a Comedy Central Roast where he was the target, was the long-standing host of America’s Funniest Home Videos for nearly a decade, and was the voice-over for Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Mother.
Aside from the legendary credits in acting, Bob Saget was somewhat of an internet meme in YouTube’s earlier years, when the viral Tourette’s Guy used to shout “BOB SAGET!” at the top of his lungs. Bob Saget had responded unfavourably to the unwanted attention he gained in a stand-up set where he addressed it.
Saget was also a board member of the non-profit Scleroderma Research Foundation charity, that aims to “to discover better treatments and a cure for people everywhere living with scleroderma,” as founder Sharon Monsky once said.
The world today lost a true visionary on and off the silver screen in acting and comedy and he will be truly missed, as others in the industry also flock to Twitter in support of the late actor.
