ASUS didn’t let off the gas this year at CES 2024, pulling back the curtain on three new ASUS ROG gaming laptops coming out in 2024.
This year at CES 2024, ASUS arrived with many new devices — and former device refreshes — to keep their audience sated for the incoming 2024 calendar year. First up to the plate is their gaming laptop brand, Republic of Gamers. While ROG also makes desktops, they brought three new laptops to showcase at CES 2024, and they’re bringing the heat (while also providing new advanced ROG cooling systems) just before CES 2024 starts.
ASUS ROG Gaming Laptops
ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 & Zephyrus G16
The new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 gaming laptops are the next entries in the Zephyrus laptop line presented at CES 2024. While the G14 is slightly smaller than the G16, that’s not the only difference, especially when you check out what’s under the hood. Both of the new Zephyrus gaming laptops presented deploy an aluminum unibody CNC chassis equipped with OLED displays (with different refresh rates as well).
ASUS has been transparent in their focus on OLED displays, and the Zephyrus line has gotten the treatment as well. Possibly the biggest difference between the previous Zephyrus line and the line revealed at CES 2024 is the new “slim power jack” charging port that has been specifically designed for the new gaming laptop line. ASUS explains the port makes charging more efficient and doesn’t utilize the USB Type C ports the laptop has, although consumers could use the USB-C for charging at a less efficient rate. The new higher-watt charger comes included with every Zephyrus G14 and G16, and like Apple’s lightning cable, it can be inserted either way facing up.
Aside from the new higher-watt charging, both laptops come with a 6-speaker setup and newly embedded ROG Slash Lighting on the lid. Below are the specifications revealed at CES 2024 for the Zephyrus G14 and Zephyrus G16 gaming laptops.

Both the Zephyrus G14 and G16 presented at CES 2024 are the latest gaming laptops in the ROG product line, and both devices can storm through GPU load-heavy titles like Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty with ease. ROG Strix SCAR 18 at CES 2024
Introducing the first 18-inch gaming laptop from ROG with the mini LED ROG Nebula HDR Display, the ROG Strix SCAR 18 comes equipped with everything fans know and appreciate about the Strix laptop line with a few more bells and whistles. First off, all 2024 Strix machines feature the latest flagship Meteor Lake Intel Core i9 processor 14900HX, including GPU upgrades of up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. The ROG Strix 2024 also features a 2.5K panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate, providing brilliant detail on every frame of gameplay.
The Strix SCAR series has also received an impressive redesign, featuring cyberpunk-inspired elements throughout the chassis presentation, finished with the ROG branding emblazoned on the lid. The new ROG Strix SCAR series will come in both 16-inch and 18-inch variants and will be released in Q1 2024 with price info TBA.
