Cuphead Steam Sale Numbers Soar According Valve Data 1

Cuphead dominates Steam charts with impressive numbers.

According to data from Valve, the just-released 1930’s cartoon-inspired shoot-em-up has already sold an impressive 125k copies on Steam’s digital storefront.

Additionally, Cuphead is currently sitting with a 97% positive review metric on Steam. These impressive numbers are only taking into account the Steam release of the title the game is also available digitally on Xbox One with cross-buy and cross-play support with Windows.

CGMagazine recently reviewed Cuphead on the Xbox One and gave it a 9/10, praising the game for its art direction and challenging difficulty.

Development of the game began all the way back in 2010. The title was originally being worked on by two brothers known as Chad and Jared Moldenhauers from their respective homes in Toronto and Saskatchewan. The two brothers have stated that the inspiration for Cuphead came from watching 1930’s era cartoons growing up, however, unlike cartoons from that era that utilized 24 frames of animation, Cuphead, instead delivers a full 60 frames per second.
