In a crossover between Blizzard Entertainment titans, Diablo Immortal‘s Sanctuary is colliding with StarCraft in a limited-time event featuring The Swarm.
A new threat is coming to Diablo Immortal‘s Sanctuary, and it’s not from below this time. StarCraft‘s Swarm is set to descend on Sanctuary, starting on May 13, and fans will be able to channel chaotic energy using a new gem, and even by donning the regal garb of Kerrigan herself. Unlike the previous Diablo IV limited-time shop event, where players were able to buy new StarCraft-based looks for their existing characters, Diablo Immortal is bringing new enemies to face off against in the Aeon of Stars event, including new boss fights, dungeon mutations, familiars, and sweet crossover rewards (similar to the previous World of Warcraft crossover event).
First off, just by logging in during the runtime of the Aeon of Stars event, you’re granted rewards. Players get: A Starcraft Inspired Avatar Frame, The Baneboil 2-Star Legendary Gem, and 1x Weapon Transmog inspired by Kerrigan, Queen of Blades. By playing and completing daily challenges, players can earn the following rewards:
- A Starcraft-Inspired Portal
- Starcraft-Inspired Stickers
- Brutal Weapon Transmogs inspired by Kerrigan, The Swarm Leader.
- Legendary and Set Gear with selectable affixes
A new challenge sees Diablo Immortal Wanderers square off against the Protoss. During the Aeon of Stars event, players can face off against two of StarCraft‘s iconic units in a special limited-time boss fight. Players can face a Tal’darim Templar and the Ascended Archon; these instantly recognizable to StarCraft-fan enemies wield forbidden psionic power and relentless precision. During the Aeon of Stars event, players can find a unique Elder Rift Affix that will spawn Zerg enemies and a unique boss: The Feral Hydralisk. Triumphing over these challenges can net players exclusive legendary weapons and these items will have special affixes that cannot be transferred.
The hallmark of the Diablo Immortal x StarCraft crossover is the new gem. Players will be able to equip the new Legendary Gem Baneboil to grant themselves command of the Swarm. Dealing damage conjures Banelings that swarm nearby enemies and explode on contact, covering them in a corrosive acid that inflicts damage over time and also causes them to take increased damage from you. Fans can acquire this gem by participating in the Dark Ascension dungeon (limited to one received per account). Fans will also be able to a cool StarCraft-inspired familiar skins, with the Zergling.
