If you’re picking up Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 tomorrow (and you know you are), you may want to take a look at the new set of rules so you don’t get yourself banned.
Treyarch released a list of, “do not’s” for players who plan to pick up the game and play, either online or as part of the single player campaign.
Included in the list of actions which can earn you a ban are modding, hacking, pirated content, unsupported peripheral devices, boosting, glitching, offensive behaviour and emblams, and offensive or unauthorized live streams.
A temporary ban can last anywhere between, “48 hours and two weeks, depending on the severity of the infraction,” the warning stated. A permanent ban is final and can not be undone.
One of the interesting aspects to the release of these new set of rules comes from a couple of days ago. Four days ago exactly, Activision released the news that Black Ops 2 would come with a built in YouTube application which will allow players to live stream their play.
While it’s clear from promotion this service is for league games from all around the world, it almost contradicts the last rule Treyarch put forth today to ensure players can play without worrying about being banned.
Almost, because although Treyarch has rules against uploading streams, it’s only concern is using unauthorized content like unlicensed music, audio clips, and logos.
The questions is, then, can people use it for monetary value on televised internet mediums like Twitch.
