CCP Games has announced a new First Strike event for the sandbox FPS module, EVE Vanguard, of the popular MMO EVE Online, and it’s coming this week!
CCP Games announced the FPS spin-off of EVE Online EVE Vanguard back in September, and now they’ve announced the ‘First Strike’ event to land in the EVE FPS in early December. CCP Games touts EVE Vanguard as an experience that will add a new and intense point-of-view to the overall EVE Online universe. Fans should note that they need an active Omega account to access the event, and it will function as a pre-alpha playtest, so it’s safe to say the final version of EVE Vanguard is still a ways off.
EVE Vanguard is an FPS spin-off that takes the world of EVE Online and adds a new perspective of the Vanguard to tell the story from a different point of view. Since the initial reveal of Dust 514 way back in August 2009, fans haven’t been able to see New Eden through an FPS lens until now, and it’s through the perspective of Vanguard war clones tasked with surveyance of planetary surfaces. The First Strike playtest of EVE Vanguard will take place on December 7, and on the official website, there is a countdown timer leading up to the start of the playtest.
How to Access the EVE Vanguard playtest on December 7
Gaining access to the EVE Vanguard First Strike playtest isn’t as hard as it seems. There are only two requirements. The first is by confirming you have an active Omega EVE Online account on their website. Fans should note this is a paid subscription service, and it is required to try out the pre-alpha playtest.
The second is by simply booting up EVE Online within the event window and selecting the Vanguard character profile in the EVE launcher once the event is live. Fans can find more info on EVE Vanguard on their official website.
The EVE Vanguard First Strike playtest will take place from midday UTC on December 7 to midday UTC on December 11, 2023.
