Fortnite and Neopets Collaboration Brings a Helping of Nostalgia to the Battle Royale

If you grew up in the late 90s and 2000s, and had a computer, you probably spent some time on the Neopets website. Launched amidst the craze of creature collecting started by Pokémon, Neopets was a free-to-access browser game that let you collect a variety of cuddly critters while exploring “Neopia.” And if hearing all that makes you as nostalgic as me, you might be pleased to know the very first Neopets sidekick has arrived in Fortnite — it had to happen sooner or later.

From July 2 at 8 pm ET to July 9 at 8 pm ET, players can head to the Fortnite Shop and get their hands on the adorable sidekick Aisha. You can get either the classic blue Aisha or a helmet-wearing Alien Aisha. But that’s not the only thing you’ll get, as each sidekick will also come with a Nosh-o-Matic emote, with three different options to give your little buddy: a Carrot and Pea Omelette, a Fish Negg, or a Necola Slushie. Yeah, they got pretty accurate with this one. The Aisha sidekick costs 1500 V-Bucks.

While nothing has been explicitly confirmed, it seems likely that we could get more Neopets sidekicks in the future. After all, there are dozens of other creatures to choose from, like Lupe or Kougra. It also makes me shudder to think of what might be possible if Fortnite ever does the same thing with Pokémon.

But if you find yourself wanting to relive Neopets or find out what the big deal is, the game underwent a massive rebranding and relaunch in 2023. You can head to the game’s official website to sign up, pick your buddy, and start exploring.

Fortnite is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, PC, and Android.
