It has been rumoured that Fortnite Season 7 Chapter 3 would be hit with a delay, and Epic Games has gone to social media to tell fans it’s still on schedule.
Fortnite sees many supposed leaks and reports that are almost always on the money before official announcements, and Epic Games rarely comments on these social media leak posts. It doesn’t help that the main sources of some of the reports and leaks have “Partnered with Epic Games” in the account’s bio (like the most recent Toy Story leak), but today, fans can now see that Epic Games will actually stop some rumours at the root.
Epic Games has responded to a claim on social media that the Chapter 7 Season 3 update has been delayed, and in their words, there is no delay. They basically confirmed that if the Season start were delayed, they would let fans know first. The exchange on X (formerly Twitter) can be seen below.
The rumour started when a known leak account, NotPaloleaks, posted a datamined reference, suggesting that another delay could happen. The post reads, “Fortnite has changed the end date of the Competitive challenges from June 5 to June 20,” adding, “We might have another Season delay.” Fortnite Season 7 Chapter 2 was famously delayed by a similar number of days (two weeks) just before release, so while it is possible that a delay could happen, Epic Games themselves have shot it down (when they’ve admitted to the delay back in Chapter 2).

So, while it does appear Competitive Challenges will receive an extension end date (from a June 5 cutoff date to June 20) — considering Epic Games didn’t address that part of the message — Fortnite Season 7 Chapter 3 appears to be right on schedule. Season 7, Chapter 3 is scheduled to start on June 5.
