Fortnite just got a new patch and comes with a new shotgun for Battle Royale’s Steady Storm LTM.
Players who wield the Double Barrel Shotgun get two shots to make it count. The gun does high burst damage at close range, is available as Epic and Legendary variants dealing 143 and 150 base damage per shot respectively, and fires 10 devastating pellets like other Shotguns. Players should also note that it has a lower critical damage multiplier of 1.25x, and when swapping weapons, it has a cooldown of two seconds.
As for the Steady Storm LTM, it’s all about constant movement as players must stay ahead of it and attack others for a Victory Royale. In this mode, it the Storm closes in over the course of 15 minutes, does 10 damage each second, and there are no safe zone circles — the player must predict where the Storm will close in. Profile stats and Challenges are also being tracked in this LTM.
Fortnite Save the World also gets updates in the form of a new Mythic Outlander and weekly Horde Challenges. Ragnarok the Dark Viking has arrived with Seismic Impact, a ground-shattering ability, while players can earn weekly loot and test their skills in the game mode.
Seismic Impact is when Ragnarok punches the ground, ruptures it, and knocks back enemies while dealing energy damage. Ragnarok will be available in the Event Store on August 8 at 8 p.m. ET.
Meanwhile, the Horde Challenges happen each week during the Road Trip event to push each player’s skills using modifiers and wave compositions. For this week, the first Challenge is all about Minibosses, and upon the first completion, players get to choose among one of three Legendary Flintlock ranged weapons.
Along with these content updates, there are also a bunch of bug fixes. As a thank you to the community for sticking by despite the Birthday Llama issues, Fortnite is giving out three free Birthday Llamas, which are available in the Loot tab. Another notable fix is how certain player models will no longer block camera angles anymore, along with no longer blocking crosshairs on slopes. When players shoot while leaving the crouch position, they will no longer fire bullets at full height until the completed animation.
Fortnite’s v5.20 patch is double the fun with not only its new Shotgun but also fixes and new content.
