Gran Turismo Sport Delayed to 2017

Gran Turismo Sport Delayed to 2017 2

Every year as fall quickly approaches, games are being shuffled around and some get delayed because the quality is not up to the standard the studios and publishers hoped for. Gran Turismo Sport has been pushed back from its original November release date to 2017.

“I am sharing some news today that we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of Gran Turismo Sport to 2017,” Said Kazunori Yamauchi, Founder of Polyphony Digital, Creator of Gran Turismo on the PlayStation Blog “GT Sport is Polyphony’s foremost competitive gaming title, with high expectations from both the fans and from within our team.”

Kazunori Yamauchi goes on to outline that “as we approach our planned release date in November, we realize we need more time to perfect GT Sport, which we’ve already dedicated so much effort towards since announcing the title. We do not want to compromise the experience in any way.”

Wile Gran Turismo Sport may not be a full fledged installment in the series, it will give Polyphony Digital a chance to show what Gran Turismo is to a whole new generation of players, so it is better to take the time to add the finishing touches. The game will feature not only VR, and new improved graphics, but is expected to have regular live competitive eSports events.

As series creator, Kazunori Yamauchi outlines himself in an interview with Chinese gaming site A9VGGran Turismo Sport is something that marks the beginning of a new generation or era. When you consider Gran Turismo 1-6 as the first era, GT Sport marks a new generation moving forward.”

Sadly no firm release-date has been given for the Gran Turismo Sport beyond sometime in 2017.

“While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date,” said Yamauchi.
