After a big news drought regarding Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games has come out of nowhere and said pre-orders are going live soon, alongside the game’s cover art.
Given how the current Grand Theft Auto 6 information drought has gone, fans have continued to believe the sixth mainline installment of the GTA franchise would be delayed further (beyond November 2026) due to the lack of information Rockstar Games has distributed and have taken to forums like Reddit to discuss it. Last month, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke at the Interactive Innovation Conference to commit to its November 2026 launch date. Today, Rockstar Games has reaffirmed its commitment by informing fans when pre-orders will open and by revealing the game’s official cover art. It can be seen in the trailer below, courtesy of Rockstar.
To no one’s surprise, Grand Theft Auto VI will be using a similar patchwork scene art style for the cover as they’ve done since Grand Theft Auto III launched back in 2001. Rockstar Games has been using the same cover style for GTA for 25 years and counting. The top middle panel of the cover art showcases the previously revealed main protagonist crime-committing duo of Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval.
While the cover art also reveals some other mystery characters (shown on the Rockstar page as “Boobie Ike” and “Real Bautista”), they’ve also thrown an alligator on the front to represent Florida (and to potentially lampoon the infamous antics locals get up to involving wildlife), the direct inspiration for Grand Theft Auto VI’s Vice City.

As for pre-orders, fans will be able to secure their copies of Grand Theft Auto VI officially on June 25. It will be made available to pre-order on digital storefronts and at other select retailers, and fans can add Grand Theft Auto VI to their wishlist today on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store to get alerted when pre-orders are live.
