A new leak in the long line of GTA 6 leak alleges that a reveal trailer for the long-awaited game might finally be shown off soon.
As reported by Dexterto, the new leak comes from Brazilian YouTuber SanInPlay, who says the trailer will provide some vital details on one of the game’s two protagonists, Lucia. While this is all still a rumour, of course, SanInPlay leaked Lucia’s name and said she was Latina, both of which were then confirmed with the massive hack that happened at Rockstar, releasing dozens of gameplay clips.
In a Tweet, SanInPlay describes the opening scenes that feature dogs playing on an ocean beach and a plane passing, mixed in with footage of Lucia working out in prison. This could indicate that the story of GTA 6 starts with our protagonists already behind bars, and the early hours could feature a prison break of sorts.
As for when the trailer could actually debut, it’s hard to say. Take-Two has its usual third-quarter earning call scheduled for early February, but it’s also been a while since we’ve seen a State of Play presentation. Take-Two would likely want to debut a big reveal just before the earnings call to build up a sense of momentum.
Starting the story in prison would line up with a report from Bloomberg, which said GTA 6’s dual protagonists are heavily inspired by Bonnie and Clyde.
There’s been no shortage of rumours and leaks for GTA 6, but despite that, we still know next to nothing about the game. In February 2022, Rockstar released an official statement finally confirming they’re working on GTA 6, stating, “With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.”
Other reports have indicated that GTA 6 could release sometime in 2024 or 2025, but it’s also unclear what platforms it’s in development for. Considering the success of the franchise so far, however, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the game on all modern consoles, as well as PC.
