Intel Unveils Ambitious AI PC Acceleration Program, Targets 100 Million AI PCs by 2025

Intel has announced a major push into the world of artificial intelligence with the launch of two new initiatives under its AI PC Acceleration Program. The tech giant aims to enable the software and hardware ecosystem to optimize and maximize AI on more than 100 million Intel-based AI PCs by 2025.

The first initiative, the AI PC Developer Program, is designed to provide a seamless experience for software developers and independent software vendors (ISVs) looking to adopt new AI technologies at scale. The program offers access to a wide range of tools, workflows, AI-deployment frameworks, and developer kits featuring the latest Intel hardware, such as the Intel Core Ultra processor.

Intel’s Vice President of the Client Computing Group, Srinivas Rao, emphasized the importance of these new programs, stating, “We have made great strides with our AI PC Acceleration Program by working with the ecosystem. Today, with the addition of the AI PC Developer Program, we are expanding our reach to go beyond large ISVs and engage with small- and medium-sized players and aspiring developers. Our goal is to drive a frictionless experience by offering a broad set of tools, including the new AI-ready Developer Kit.”

The second initiative involves the addition of independent hardware vendors (IHVs) to the AI PC Acceleration Program. Intel is working closely with its hardware partners to innovate and elevate the AI PC experience to new heights. IHVs and developers can now register to join the program and gain access to Intel’s global partner network, which is working to maximize AI performance in the PC industry.

The AI PC Acceleration Program, initially announced in October 2023, aims to connect IHVs and ISVs with Intel resources, including artificial intelligence toolchains, training, co-engineering, software optimization, hardware, design, and more. By collaborating with partners across the industry, Intel hopes to accelerate innovation and bring the benefits of AI to a wider audience.
