Kirby's Dream Buffet Gets Worldwide Release Date

Kirby’s Dream Buffet gets its August release date, not even a month after the original announcement in July.

Although August has been rudely hot this Summer, it’s about to get a whole lot sweeter with the release of the surprisingly announced digital Kirby’s Dream Buffet. Nintendo launched a trailer for the pink puff today on YouTube, announcing August 17th as the official release date for the digital Kirby’s Dream Buffet. The trailer with the newly announced release date can be seen below.

With this release date, this makes Kirby above and beyond the most utilized Nintendo license above even the plumber who doesn’t wear ties, Super Mario. While licenses such as Metroid have only seen one entry in the past decade with Metroid Dread, it shows Nintendo’s commitment towards Kirby, even with Forgotten Land releasing just in March.

Kirby Dream Buffet Gets Worldwide Release Date Of August 17

The title will utilize many battle royale staples, such as attempting to get a leg up on your opponents by pushing them down, and consuming the most food during segments. While the trailer does make the title resemble Fall Guys in nature, this is strictly a title where the victor truly does get all the spoils. Players will need to eat their way through exciting races, a battle royale mode, and mini-games to determine which Kirby ate the most in a Kirby Dream Buffet and weigh in at the end of a bout. Of course Kirby’s copy ability will be utilized in droves here, with a jelly consumable allowing Kirby to slip under obstacles and much more.

Coming off the successful release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land in March, with CGMagazine naming it one of the best Nintendo Switch games for kids, Kirby fans have been looking forward to this launch. Kirby Dream Buffet launches on the Nintendo eShop on August 17th, with only a digital version currently announced.
