New Kirby's Dream Buffet Gets A Surprise Trailer, Including Lots Of Racing And Cake 3

With the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land not even a year old yet, Nintendo threw more Kirby at fans with a Kirby’s Dream Buffet trailer, and the release is on the horizon.

Kirby has had a long and arduous road to his latest mainline entry. Many gimmick based spin-offs have been introduced, such as the well received titles Kirby Air Ride & Kirby Epic Yarn, to the more middling Team Kirby Clash Deluxe. Nintendo had another multi-Kirby based game up their sleeve with the well concealed Kirby’s Dream Buffet. A brand-new trailer was also introduced as the proverbial icing on the cake.

This new Kirby adventure sees the adorable pink vacuum in a type of Fall Guys competition—except there are only four player competitions instead of 60—where slamming into opponents which can be a variety of Waddle-Dees or other differently hued Kirby is commonplace, instead of the oddly shaped beans as seen in the former. The objective is to pursue consuming the most food during the rolling platform sequences over your opponents. The Nintendo Website for Kirby’s Dream Buffet details it by saying:

Roll through a smorgasbord of food-themed stages in 4 rounds of 4-player* fun as Kirby…who seems rounder than usual? Race through delicious obstacle courses to collect strawberries as Kirby grows. Then, turn the tides in the final round—a fruity fight atop a floating platform.

Interestingly enough, the website also only lists the game as local multiplayer only so far. Which is a head-scratcher considering the vast popularity of the party game it closely resembles. Fans will have to weather the storm until the food extravaganza commences.

Kirby’s Dream Buffet devours the competition at a TBD date this summer. Fans looking to sink their teeth into more information can slide over to the official Nintendo Twitter for more information.
