Here’s one of those stories that, as a consumer, probably makes you a little sick to your stomach. According to Business Wire, an Atlanta, Georgia law firm known as Holzer Holzer & Fistel, LLC is looking into the possibility of filing a lawsuit against Electronic Arts for the buggy experience that was Battlefield 4. That’s good news, right? Well, it is if you’re a shareholder, as the clientele for this possible lawsuit is NOT the customers who bought a buggy game, but the financially inconvenienced investors, who will have “suffered” as a result of the smaller sales from a poor game. It’s true that games are a big business now that annually rake in billions of dollars but it’s still disheartening to see things like this happen. A customer that is disappointed with a purchase he or she may have had to scrimp and save for is less important that someone with a substantial amount of wealth complaining that “Thanks to this fiasco, I will merely be comfortably rich instead of obscenely rich. Heads will roll.” It’s important to note at this point that this is not a full blown lawsuit yet, the law firm is just trying to decide whether it’s worth it to take it that far.
