MARVEL Cosmic Invasion Brings Cyclops And The Thing To The Fight In New DLC

To Me, My X-Men!

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion Announces Cyclops And The Thing Are Joining The Fight For The Cosmos!

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion DLC 1 expands its hero roster with members of the X-Men and Fantastic Four, with more playable characters on the way this fall.

Announced today in a super sick animated reveal trailer, the first paid DLC for 2025’s MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is here to bring some iconic Marvel heroes into the fight for the cosmos! For $3.99 USD, players can blast enemies as Cyclops, leader of the X-Men, or tank hits and clobber foes as The Thing from the Fantastic Four.

Cosmic Invasion players won’t have to wait too long for another content drop, either for the arcade-style beat-’em-up, as DLC 2 is confirmed to be launching this fall. Although we don’t know the specific details, we do know it will feature even more playable characters and an all-new game mode!

Cyclops and The Thing will be joining the base roster of 15 Marvel heroes fighting back against the Annihilation Wave. You could try both DLC characters out in a single playthrough using the tag-out system, or even make use of MARVEL Cosmic Invasion‘s four-player co-op to build a full team of X-Men with Cyclops alongside Wolverine, Storm, and Phoenix.

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion developer DotEmu is a pretty underrated game studio and publisher, having developed other retro-style beat-’em-ups like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Streets of Rage 4, and NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound. They are also responsible for the new beat-’em-up rogue-lite Absolum that released last year, which includes music from legendary gaming musicians like DOOM‘s Mick Gordon and Yuka Kitamura, who worked on the Dark Souls series and Elden Ring.
