Monster Hunter World Is Now Capcom's Bestselling Game of All Time 1

Giant creatures aren’t the only thing being slain in Monster Hunter World, as the game has obliterated sales records and is now the bestselling Capcom game of all time.

Capcom announced today that Monster Hunter World has sold over 7.5 million copies since its launch in January of this year. That moves it past their previous bestselling game, Resident Evil 5 which sold 7.3 million copies on PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.

As its name suggests. the Monster Hunter series pits players against giant monsters that they have to try and hunt in order to progress. The first game in the series came out 14 years ago and as a whole, the series has sold over 48 million copies to date. The game is currently out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC of the game set to release at a later date.

Some fans have also requested a Nintendo Switch port of the game, and that idea was recently met with interest by Galaxy Studios CEO Adam Boyes.

There has been no official response by Capcom and it remains to be seen if anything will come from this tweet. That being said, Iron Galaxy Studios has had experience porting to Nintendo Switch in the past. They recently helped bring Skyrim to Switch consoles and have made games for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the past.

Monster Hunter World has received extremely positive reviews from players and critics alike and currently sits at  90 on review aggregate site Metacritic.
