In the Metaverse, Quill from the Moss franchise and Ruth Bram, the executive producer at Oculus Studios announced that Moss: Book II is coming to Meta Quest 2 owners this summer.
Developer, Polyarc, also showed off new gameplay footage during the event. However, there is no word on how the two versions will differ at this time. Owners of Meta Quest 2 can now add Moss: Book II to their wishlist at the Oculus Store. The first game, Moss, is currently on sale for $23.99 at the Oculus Store. Moss Book II was released on PlayStation VR on March 31, 2022. It received an 84 on Metacritic for generally favourable reviews.
“One of the first things we heard when we launched Moss: Book II on PlayStation VR a few weeks ago was that the Quest 2 community wanted to play it, and we’re going to deliver on that in the very near future,” said co-founder and CEO of Polyarc, Tam Armstrong. “Our goal from day one has been getting the Moss franchise onto as many headsets as possible. We want all VR players to have the opportunity to experience the joy of physical interaction and power of the emotional resonance we’ve been building into the worlds we create. We’re excited to share our game with millions of Quest 2 players around the world this summer.”
According to Polyarc, Quest 2 players will find an increased sense of immersion and physical connection to the world when leveraging the two-controller setup. Polyarc also says the two controller setup will provide a natural feeling, allowing players to express themselves more freely in the game’s world.
The story in Moss: Book II will pick up where Moss left off, “Having rescued her uncle Argus, Quill’s adventure will continue with the revelation that a winged tyrant is hunting her within the castle where her uncle was held captive. But Quill has a plan of her own, one that could finally end the merciless rule of the Arcane and save the world from a great unmaking.”
“Releasing a sequel to a game we’ve received such a heartfelt reaction to was not an easy task,” said Armstrong. “But we’re deeply proud of this continuation of Quill’s story, and I believe the team has created something special with Moss: Book II. We can’t wait to hear what Quest 2 players think.”
