Netflix’s Thriller, You, Season 4 Trailer Dropped Today

Netflix's Thriller, You, Season 4 Trailer Dropped Today 1

The psychological thriller series You has just dropped its season 4 trailer on Netflix, revealing the latest plot and release dates.

‘You, you, you.’ Joe Goldberg is back with the first official trailer for Netflix’s You revealed today, teasing a lot of what is to come. It also dropped some release dates…yes, release dates! This will be the first season to be split into two parts for the series. This could be a hint that this could be the craziest and wildest season yet. Spoilers from season 3 will ensue below, so definitely catch up before reading ahead!

Last season saw the obsessive-romantic criminal Joe leaving America, and heading to Paris in search of his new love interest (pun intended) Marienne Bellamy from season 3. In the final episode of season 3, Marienne was last known to be fleeing the country after learning about Joe’s vicious crimes.

The latest You trailer showed that Tati Gabrielle (Uncharted, Kaleidoscope) will be reprising her role as Marienne, as she now rocks long platinum blonde hair. It also showed that the new setting was in London, not in Paris where it teased at the end of the last season. The voice over had Penn Badgley’s Joe self-reflecting, “Did you break my heart, Marienne?” After a shot showing Gabrielle’s new look, he continues, “Heartbreak is always a catalyst for a new path.”

The Netflix trailer showed Joe posing as a literature professor named Jonathan Moore at a London university, and he stated how he was surprised to like the new role for himself. Despite his disinterest in the posh-ness of his students and faculty members, things look to be taking a twist as Joe realizes there is another killer in his presence. Alerts flooded the school campus as murders of the school’s wealthy elite began spreading. There is no way it could be Love, right?!

With the killer unknown, it seems like Joe will have to balance his obsessive-sexual urges, his hunt for Marienne and solving the mystery behind a string of murders at the London university campus. The first real inside look at the show’s next season was when the @younetflix Instagram account posted a hint at the season 4 filming location back on April 1, 2022. The caption read: “Joe’s back for a bloody good time. If his book choice tells us anything…our boy might not be in Paris anymore.”

By the end of the Netflix teaser, it announced the two-part season would be dropping Part 1 on February 1, 2023 and Part 2 on March 9, 2023. Most of the head writers will be returning, along with the staple actors whose characters are still alive. Speaking on characters still alive, Jenna Ortega’s Ellie is still alive last time we saw her in season 2, as Joe mentioned he continues to send her money. Could the rising star from Netflix’s Wednesday finally be returning for her re-appearance in the show? I guess we will just have to find out when the next season drops.
