Nintendo Indie World Nov 2023 - All Of The Exciting Announcements!

Today, Nintendo dropped a showcase of their latest Indie titles in Nintendo Direct fashion with Nintendo Indie World in November 2023, where they blasted fans with Indie trailers and what’s to come for 2024.

Announced just yesterday, Nintendo Indie World November 2023 kicked off today, giving fans of all genres a lot to look forward to in the immediate future when it comes to independently published titles on the Nintendo Switch. Everything revealed will either be a Nintendo Switch exclusive or a timed exclusive, with the Nintendo Switch listed as the first console these few titles will land on.

With Indie Gaming’s continued rise to prominence with id@Xbox, Nintendo Indie World, and even getting their own program for gamescom, indie gaming appears to be around for the long haul and with the showcase for November 2024, it seems Nintendo is giving fans quality from all sorts of genres to kick off 2024. Below is a myriad of trailers announced today, and some can even be played later today, to keep things interesting.

Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution at Nintendo Indie World

The long-lost sidescrolling platformer announced initially for the Game Boy Advance in 2001 features the genie herself, Shantae, in a direct sequel to the original. With original developers from 2001, WayForward is bringing what many considered a cancelled sequel to Nintendo Switch in 2024, complete with updated and overhauled graphics and a four-player battle mode. It arrives at a TBD date in 2024.

Core Keeper at Nintendo Indie World

A top-down perspective adventure with randomly generated biomes infiltrates the Nintendo Switch in the Summer of 2024, and it’s called Core Keeper. This roguelike, Rune Factory-esque title features up to eight-player multiplayer mode and beautiful pixel art.

On Your Tail at Nintendo Indie World

A new vacation-based mystery title sees a seaside narrative life simulator meets detective work in the beautiful landscape of Borgo Marina. Developer Memorable Games bases the title’s gameplay and setting on a Summer holiday in Italy. Fans can get sleuthing at a TBD date in 2024.

Howl at Nintendo Indie World

Discover the fate of your lost brother in Howl, a “prophecy in blood and ink” based on fairy tale werewolves in a turn-based tactical RPG folk tale. Featuring deep tactical gameplay and secret paths to uncover, Howl is coming to Nintendo Switch later today! (A free demo of Howl is also available)

The Star Named EOS at Nintendo Indie World

Up next for the showcase is a narrative adventure puzzle game featuring photographs to determine the difference between reality and make-believe. As a young photographer, you need to revisit your past to uncover the reasoning behind your mother’s disappearance. It will launch on Nintendo Switch in Spring 2024.

Backpack Hero at Nintendo Indie World

This roguelike deckbuilding adventure is doused in pixel art and features in-depth town-building mechanics. Gamers who enjoy inventory management will find a treasure trove of excellent gaming here when Backpack Hero launches on Nintendo Switch RIGHT NOW.

Blade Chimera at Nintendo Indie World

From Playism, the team that brought fans Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is bringing fans another action adventure 2D platformer with a healthy dose of futuristic Sci-Fi. Fans can get ahold of Blade Chimera in the Spring of 2024.

A Highland Song at Nintendo Indie World

A new rhythm-based platforming adventure with a hand-drawn style is on the way from developer Inkle. Inspired by adventuring through the Scottish Highlands on foot, this adventure has “hundreds of paths” to get the protagonist to the destination, Lighthouse. Scottish folk music serenades the player as the adventure unfolds, and this title can be played on December 3.

Moonstone Island at Nintendo Indie World

A Frankenstein of genres was revealed next at Nintendo Indie World in November 2024, Moonstone Island. It features roguelike elements, randomly generated islands, building a community, and, of course, all the cozy gameplay that could be associated with a chill life simulator. This patchwork of hit genres in gaming can be played at a TBD date in the Spring of 2024.

Death Trick: Double Blind at Nintendo Indie World

A new detective game is in development from Misty Mountain Studio, and it has players channel their inner Ace Attorney/Professor Layton in a whimsical world featuring Morgan’s Traveling Circus. Death Trick: Double Blind is a narrative type of visual novel that demands the player put together clues to determine which lead can reveal the proper path forward. It becomes available in 2024.

The Nintendo IndieWorld showcase closed out with two things. The first is finally revealing the release date of the majorly teased Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition for Nintendo Switch, and it will arrive on December 7, complete with the Echoes of the Eye expansion.

The second is a trailer that showed a few more indie games from Nintendo Indie World’s November 2023 showcase in rapid-fire style. The titles and their release dates (if mentioned) can be seen in the list below:
