OnePlus announced the rollout for the new OxygenOS 13, slated to hit the OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 10T this year.
Launching first for the OnePlus 10 Pro, OxygenOS 13 is the next evolution of the OnePlus software that looks to bring a faster, smoother, more stable experience to users. OnePlus is also implementing a new Aquamorphic design that is said to take inspiration from “the flow of water.” The update is slated to launch first for the OnePlus 10 Pro, with it hitting the OnePlus 10T later this year.
“With OxygenOS 13, we continue to deliver the experience that our long-time users love, like a faster and smoother experience, stable performance, burdenless design, and ease of use,” said Head of OS Product, Gary Chen. “We have also made exciting improvements to better accommodate users’ needs and changing lifestyles, bringing an all-encompassing upgrade that underscores customization and personalization, gaming, and connectivity.”
The new design brings a new softer look with rounded edges across the OS, that looks to bring a more comfortable viewing experience for OnePlus users. This will also bring a more intuitive user experience, along with a colour scheme that will change based on the time of day, with it lighter in the morning, and darker as the day winds down.
Beyond the look, OxygenOS 13 is slated to bring a smoother overall user experience. The AI System Booster will bring a more stable and fluid feel with advanced, intelligent memory management systems that will allow you to suspend more applications at once, further reducing your workflow or the ability to multitask on phones running OxygenOS 13.
OxygenOS 13 will bring advancements to the overall feel of the phone, making notable quality of life improvements to how users interact with their smartphone. The Always-on Display will bring forward relevant information while the phone is not in use. The new OS brings new features to improve the usability of the OS by adding and improving features like Smart Launcher and Sidebar Toolbox, gaming with HyperBoost, elevated audio with Spatial Audio, Dolby Atmos, Fast Pair, and Audio
Switch, and sharing options with Nearby Share, security and App Streaming.
OnePlus is looking to bring OxygenOS 13 to the OnePlus 10 Pro first, with the OnePlus 10T launching later this year.
