Ouya Co-Founder Departs From Company 1

Ouya’s co-founder Muffi Ghadiali has parted ways from the company.

As TechCrunch confirmed today, Ghadiali was described as a key factor in ensuring the Android-based console’s success. During his time at Ouya, Ghadiali’s responsibilities included industrial and product design, firmware development, as well as mechanical, electrical and RF engineering duties.

An Ouya representative revealed in a statement Ghadiali’s departure reflects a shift in staffing. While Ouya acknowledges Ghadiali’s “invaluable” contributions, the representative says the company is moving forward in “the next phase of business and product development”.

Ghadiali’s previous experience includes working for Lab126 (Amazon’s low-profile projects division responsible for the Kindle), Hewlett-Packard and Synaptics.

Ouya was one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns of 2013, as it was released commercially in June of the same year.
