The comedic-action star’s new title, revealed on Stephen Cobert’s Late Show. Paul Rudd has a lot to say on the matter.
Paul Rudd has charmed our hearts and made our bellies laugh out loud countless times. From Clueless and Friends to Marvel’s Ant-Man and now taking on the Apple TV+ series, The Shrink Next Door with Anchorman alumni, Will Ferrell. Rudd will also be coming to the big screen as Ghostbusters: Afterlife hits theatres soon.
The 52-year-old (doesn’t even look it!) gorgeous, hilarious actor has been officially named PEOPLE’s 2021 Sexiest Man Alive. The announcement was teased but technically first shown on last night’s (Tuesday, November 9, 2021) episode of Stephen Cobert’s Late Show, which had a sketch featuring Colbert and Rudd delivering satirical quips and jabs at what it means to be sexy.
Paul Rudd is also very humble as the actor mentions to PEOPLE, “I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, ‘What?’ This is not false humility. There are so many people that should get this before me.”
The warm, green eyes paired with a delightful grin is only a by-product of his one true happiness in his life: his family. The first person he talked about receiving his new title was his wife, Julie, who was shocked yet sweet about the whole proclamation.
But as much as the actor can remain modest, Rudd also said he will be “owning” the new title to its fullest by making “business cards” and hopes and plans for his friends to ridicule him for it. Even when Rudd is excited and wants to boast, it is still sexily humorous.
Rudd continued to jokingly comment on how his life will change with the new sexy title, “I’m hoping now that I’ll finally be invited to some of those sexy dinners with Clooney and Pitt and B Jordan.” He reflects deeper and says, “And I figure I’ll be on a lot more yachts. I’m excited to expand my yachting life. And I’ll probably try to get better at brooding in really soft light. I like to ponder. I think this is going to help me become more inward and mysterious. And I’m looking forward to that.”
Hopefully, we call all feast our eyes on some of these new attributes Rudd will be bringing to his latest movies and shows. Of course, he was already handsome and capturing our hearts with his previous performances, we can expect to see more. The family man, Paul Rudd, will show these fatherly chops as one of the leading adult roles, Mr. Grooberson, in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which comes out next week, November 19, 2021.
