After CAPCOM announced the Resident Evil Requiem DLC, they’ve been relatively quiet about its timing. Now, it’s claimed it will release after Code Veronica.
Since the release of Resident Evil Requiem, players have been able to sink their teeth into one DLC content expansion and have also been informed that a second story DLC is on the way. While that was some time ago (back in March), Director Koshi Nakanishi thanked fans for the game’s massive success and confirmed plans to launch a major story expansion for RE9. This is following other additions — like the mentioned “mini game” — that are in the works. But today, a new report from the known leaker DuskGolem claims the DLC will arrive a little later than fans expected.

The new post on XCancel (as AestheticGamer) says that CAPCOM is “all hands on deck” with the production of the Resident Evil Veronica remake, and that the remake will be released in Q1 2027. The leak also says that the Resident Evil Requiem‘s previously announced story expansion will actually follow the release of Resident Evil Veronica.
The leak suggests that CAPCOM will be deploying more and more of the ‘episode-like’ DLC releases (like the Separate Ways DLC from Resident Evil 4) to bridge the gap between the bigger franchise releases. It has, so far, worked well for fans and developers, with Separate Ways and Resident Evil: Village’s Shadow of the Rose receiving strong reception. On the flip side, the side-games that have been released have not been received so well (Revelations, Chronicles), so this new avenue of releases can end up working out in the long run for CAPCOM.

Like every leaked report, fans should take this one with a grain of salt. Although DuskGolem has a reputation for ‘calling it’ when it comes to Resident Evil leaks, none of the information can be confirmed until an official announcement regarding Veronica is made.
