A recent job listing hints that Behaviour Interactive is developing an unannounced AAA sci-fi first-person shooter.
Is this all smoke and mirrors for a new DLC in Dead by Daylight, perhaps? A few days ago, Behaviour Interactive put out a job posting for a Senior Technical Animator position for an unannounced AAA sci-fi FPS title made in Unreal Engine. While there were a few details to extrapolate from the job listing, the game IP or game world is all speculation.
Behaviour Interactive’s own job posting contains some general details about the unannounced game. One of the most interesting phrases used was that they are searching to build this game “with a high realism bar.” The sci-fi shooter aspect felt like it leaned towards Behaviour Interactive’s Meet Your Maker game that was released back in 2023. However, the scope appears to be wider since it mentioned AAA.
Meet Your Maker was on a smaller scale, with the Montreal-based studio departing from the horror genre ever so slightly. That game was also met with mixed to negative reviews, so it is unlikely they will double down on a sequel. We can also extract some information on the enemy types in the game from the job description: “Be responsible for animation and character integration in Unreal Engine, creating and maintaining rigs for bipedal and non-bipedal characters, including mechanical setups.” It went on to state that candidates should have “knowledge of Unreal Control Rig and its real-time system applications for procedural animation systems.”

Behaviour Interactive has accomplished some great work in the sci-fi genre in the past, with Fallout Shelter and Halo Wars: Definitive Edition. But again, this was a collaborative effort. Nothing about this posting said whether this would be an original title or a game made with one of their frequent collaborators, such as Microsoft, Sony, EA, Warner, Netflix, or Take-Two Interactive. After the Bethesda fiasco in 2018 with the now-taken-down Westworld mobile game, perhaps Behaviour Interactive and Bethesda have squashed the beef. They could be cooking up a Fallout game together.
This could be another Behaviour Interactive game meeting the same fate as Project T, which was cancelled in 2024. For now, an official announcement has to be made to definitively reach a conclusion. It is possible we will get to see a teaser or announcement at The Game Awards 2026 in December, or a showcase later in 2027. Only time will just stick to what works in Dead by Daylight.
