Skull and Bones Lets You Build A Sea Empire With Post-Launch Roadmap

Ubisoft recently revealed an ambitious roadmap for the first year of content and features coming to the long-awaited pirate RPG Skull and Bones following its launch on February 16th. The plans promise to greatly expand the scope of the game beyond its initial offering, providing new challenges for veteran pirates to overcome.

Central to these Skull and Bones post-launch plans is the introduction of Legendary Pirate Lords such as Philippe La Peste and the Hubac Twins, powerful NPC villains that will arrive with each new season to threaten players’ burgeoning piracy empires. Defeating these bosses and their crews will require coordination among players as well as upgrading to the new seasonal ships and gear rewards unlocked at the end of every season.

Alongside these new legendary foes, Ubisoft also teased more dynamic PvE content in the form of merchant convoys, elite warships, and other predators prowling the seas, upping the stakes for every voyage.

For those who reach the endgame as a notorious Pirate Kingpin in Skull and Bones, even greater tests of skill await. Players will eventually transition from allies to rivals with other top players, vying for control of key smuggling routes and production facilities across the map. Special endgame events focused on legendary heists and hostile takeovers of operations promise to take the treachery and skullduggery to new heights.

Competitive PvP will continue to expand in the months following launch with special high-stakes events. Players can challenge each other or work together to unlock exclusive Legendary Treasure Maps. Skull and Bones leaderboards will track players’ infamy and reward the most cutthroat pirates each season, giving everyone the chance to live in infamy in their own way through the game.

Alongside all this new content, Ubisoft will host a range of live events and community activities to keep players engaged. An open beta running February 8-11 offers a taste of this expanding world of piracy before Skull and Bones sets sail on February 16th.
