Starfield’s Big “100 Fixes & Improvements” Patch Has Been Delayed

Just a Little Further Away

Auto Draft

What’s being touted as a massive patch by Bethesda Studios, Starfield’s “over 100 fixes and improvements” patch has been officially delayed, as it was due to go live on Steam Beta today.

Seeing as how the last patch for Starfield launched over a month ago in November, Bethesda has been touting another ‘mega’ patch that’s in the works. The problem is, as it was scheduled to go live today (first on Steam Beta), Bethesda pulled the patch due to “an issue,” and it will be released at a later date. The news broke first on X (formerly Twitter), from the official Bethesda Studios account and the post can be seen below.

While the announced delay appears to push the update back to “later this week,” Bethesda has left out the timeline for the Starfield console update, and no info was given on whether that version of the patch will also be delayed or not. Bethesda has recently revealed a lot of what the patch will entail in the coming week as well, and many stability improvements are sure to make their way into Constellation.

Starfield’s promised patch improvements announced so far include quest bug fixes such as “Eye of the Storm” refusing to start the data transfer, additional widescreen support will improve overall game stability, and lighting issues will receive notable corrections as well. Bethesda has also said the full notes regarding the patch will come out when the patch itself does.

Many fans have taken issue with the announcements, lamenting what was left out of the announcements rather than what Starfield has promised to fix, from broad statements like ‘make the game more fun!’ to more focused ones. Many fans are disappointed with the lack of travel functions, with users like Marco_Kelly23 saying on X “All updates are welcomed to further on to bigger updates. Was hoping this was ” the new ways of traveling update ” but I’m sure we’re leading up to it” and remaining hopeful on future updates.

The latest Starfield update is now rescheduled to launch “later this week” on Steam Beta, and the full patch notes should go live when it does.
