Ubisoft has announced that they will be delaying the release of two of their major titles: Far Cry 5 and the Crew 2.
As of right now, Far Cry 5 has been delayed from February 27, 2018 to March 27, 2018. This means that fans of the series will have to wait an additional month for the highly anticipated, and potentially controversial, launch.
The reason that Ubisoft has given for delaying Far Cry 5 is simply that they feel that “the extra time will allow the team at Ubisoft Montreal to make some additional improvements that will bring the best, most ambitious Far Cry experience…”
Far Cry 5 is the first in the series to take place in the United States, and will be set in the fictional Hope County, Montana.
Whereas Far Cry 5 was only delayed a single month, the Crew 2 has been delayed from March 16, 2018 to the first half of Ubisoft’s 2018-2019 fiscal year. This means that it will finally launch between April, 2018 and September, 2018.
Now, according to Ubisoft, the Crew 2, which is being developed by the team at Ivory Tower, they “will use the next several months to perform additional playtests, gather player feedback…” as well as make the game line up with their ambitious standards.
The Crew 2 is an open-world game that will span across all of the United States. In addition to cars, the player will also be able to take control of boats and various other motor vehicles for their entertainment.
Both games will be released on the PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, and PC.
