In Ubisoft’s new financial report, the company reported growth over Q3 2023-2024 — bolstered by big sales from Assassin’s Creed Mirage — but in the finer details, they gave fans a glimpse at future release dates.
On the Q3 Ubisoft earnings call, the company revealed a positive stance on the status of the previous quarter. Earnings were strengthened by mostly positive fan — and critical — reception of strong new IP releases such as Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown title and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. On the free-to-play side of things, the company relied on XDefiant to carry the heavy lifting. Ubisoft reports a total net booking of €626.2 million, a fall-off year representing a decrease of 13.8% compared to Q3 2022-2023.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot explained, “Ubisoft recorded a solid third quarter, with net bookings slightly ahead of our expectations. This quarter provided us with positive momentum and marks the beginning of our turnaround to consistently creating and delivering high-quality, long-lasting games” during the finance call. But during this same call, Guillemot spilled the beans on the release windows of Ubisoft’s highly anticipated upcoming titles.
At the end of the call Guillemot said “Moving forward, we’re gearing up for a very promising line-up for the fiscal year 2025, including the upcoming release of Star Wars Outlaws in 2024, which should be a major milestone in the video game industry, especially given the undeniable appeal of this legendary franchise that will be coming for the first time to the Open World territory, as well as Assassin’s Creed Codename Red,” which directly states Star Wars Outlaws will launch before the year ends, and the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Codename Red is arriving sometime in the fiscal year of 2025.
Interestingly, although Ubisoft gave a release window for Codename Red, they didn’t mention the upcoming ‘Jade‘ or ‘Hex‘ titles revealed back at the Assassin’s Creed Anniversary showcase. So fans will just have to stay tuned for more announcements.
