Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster is taking the franchise in a new direction, bringing the Skaven into a stylish 2D action platformer full of grit, stealth, and comic-book flair.
Announced earlier today, during the official Games Workshop Warhammer Skulls Showcase annual digital festival, an event that focuses on the video game front for the franchise, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster is the latest addition to the tapestry that makes up the Warhammer property, thanks to the efforts of DotEmu and Old Skull Games.
Taking the beloved franchise to a new genre, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster is a brand new 2D Action Platformer, featuring gorgeous illustrations that come to life in a comicbook-inspired aesthetic that oozes with grit and charm. Instead of surface-based tactical warfare, bloodsport, or a classic hack & slash affair, all genres within the Warhammer franchise that have featured the popular Skaven Rat race before, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster takes the fan-favourite faction and places them front and centre in a sprawling 2D adventure.

With a burning ambition to climb the ranks of becoming the top assassin, you play as the enigmatic Ratman Vihneek, a loyal to the end acolyte serving within the Eshin clan. As the name may imply, this latest Warhammer adventure takes place during the Age of Sigmar, a tumultuous time where the Skaven have risen to take over the Mortal Realms like a plague made manifest on the Earth.
Stealthly sneaking around, setting traps and exploiting the dangerous environments around you is the name of the game in Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster, promising players a well-realized and brutal adventure steeped in the dark and atmospheric underbelly of Warhammer’s extended universe. Published by DotEmu, who already have a robust catalogue of stellar smash hits in partnership with Old Skull Games, a studio of 60 developers, their latest Warhammer debut is something worth keeping on your radar. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster will see release on PC and Consoles sometime in 2027.
